The Salomon Family Disappeared With No Trace
Sol Salomon immigrated to the United States from Israel with his family. They moved to Northridge, CA, where they raised their two children. Salomon ran a small business and due to some savvy real estate investments, he and his family lived quite comfortably. They lived in Northridge for 10 years until their disappearance.

The family owned a few exotic cars and had quite a bit of money. However, when police examined their home after the disappearance, nothing was stolen and it did not appear to be a robbery. The only potential clue was some blood splatter in one room, and a piece of carpeting that had suspiciously been removed and covered up. Sol and his wife, Elaine, had no criminal background. Later, the family’s passports would be discovered on the side of the highway.

Suspects have arisen over the years. Some theories point to the Israeli mafia being involved, though relatives deny that the Salomons had any mafia ties. At one point, the police suspected Harvey Rader, a business associate of Salomon’s, but ultimately, nothing could be proven.

A Mother And Daughter Disappear Under Suspicious Circumstances
In 2013, Marie-Jose Benitez and her daughter Allison, 19, mysteriously disappeared after a trip to Toulouse, France. The mother-daughter duo, who lived in Perpignan, France, allegedly left after Marie-Jose had an argument with her husband, Francisco. He told police they turned their phones off when they got to town, and in order to give them their space, he did not inform other family members where they had gone.

But when police started investigating what happened to them, they quickly realized there was little evidence they had traveled to Toulouse at all. Neither had a driver’s license and there was no CCTV of them getting on or off a train. They also discovered neither woman had made any calls to or from their cellphones, nor had they taken any money out of their bank accounts.

Francisco admitted to investigators he and his wife were having marital issues. One of which was his extramarital relations, which Allison uncovered and revealed to her mother. In 2004, he was seeing a 28-year-old Brazilian woman named Simone Oliveria Alves, who had also mysteriously disappeared. With all the similarities between the cases, police opened an investigation into Francsico.

But within two weeks, he was dead. He uploaded a video online proclaiming his innocence, and then committed suicide. Forensic analysis found Allison’s blood in the family freezer, but because their bodies were never found (and because of Francisco’s suicide) the case has never been solved.
