On May 11, 2026, he filed a complaint at the Narbonne police station regarding incidents involving other young people, unrelated to those now under investigation. Then, on June 12, a week before the tragedy, he went to a gendarmerie in the Tarn region to report further group violence that had required hospitalization.

On that occasion, however, he refused to file a complaint despite encouragement from the police. These two incidents, now confirmed by the prosecutor’s office, highlight that Louis had already reported significant difficulties in the weeks leading up to the events.

An investigation still full of questions

Very quickly, numerous theories circulated on social media regarding the motive for the case. The prosecutor, however, indicated that there was no evidence to suggest a racial motive.
