Sarah Louise Heath Palin was born on February 11, 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Just a few months after her birth, her family moved to Wasilla, Alaska. Growing up in Wasilla shaped much of Palin’s personality and leadership skills. At Wasilla High School, she was a standout basketball player and team leader, often crediting sports for teaching her discipline and teamwork.
