Or perhaps all they want is excitement, but they can’t articulate it. The one thing you can do is tell the truth; nothing else will solve the problem. Regardless of whether the relationship succeeds or fails, you should be entitled to live in reality rather than in a paranoid world of your own creation. Listen to what they say, and even more importantly, to what they are not saying.
