The lynching of Louis in Narbonne: the prosecutor’s revelations about his past could shed new light on this case

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., a construction worker discovered an unconscious teenager on a building site located at 15 Quai d’Alsace in Narbonne. According to information released by prosecutor Jean-Philippe Rey, the young man had numerous visible injuries.

Emergency services responded quickly and Louis was taken to the hospital. Given the seriousness of his condition, he was later transferred to Perpignan. Despite receiving care, he died on June 23rd.

According to initial findings of the investigation, the events took place the previous evening, June 19th. Investigators are favoring the theory of a  premeditated ambush . The prosecutor indicates that the individuals charged lured the teenager to the construction site before beating him repeatedly.

A video at the heart of the investigation

The case quickly took on a particular dimension when a video of the incident began circulating on social media. The footage shows a group of young people attacking Louis while he is on the ground.
