Despite this, authorities have since gained partial control, though smaller explosions continued for hours afterward. Officials now believe the threat of a large-scale secondary blast has diminished.

Mayor Brad Rachford described the event as a tragedy but refrained from further comment. Local news outlets reported that emergency services received dozens of calls from across the region, including from residents as far as Dickson, who also felt the explosion.
