Just days after the second attack, she attempted to take her own life by jumping from a fifth-floor window. The fall left her paralyzed from the waist down.
Noelia first applied for euthanasia more than a year ago, but the process was delayed by a lengthy legal battle led by her own father, Geronimo Castillo.
“He hasn’t respected my decision and he never will.”
In one of her final television interviews, Noelia spoke about the disagreement within her family over her decision to die by euthanasia.
She also added: “The happiness of a father or a mother should not supersede the happiness of a daughter.”
