Erika Morales, the young woman who requested euthanasia after becoming quadriplegic due to a brutal attack in a bar in Pasto, has died.

The young woman was the victim of a brutal attack while in the bathroom of a bar in Pasto. On social media, those close to Erika claim that the attackers were Glair Gómez and Leidy León; however, this information has not been confirmed by the authorities.

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the last wish of Erika Deyanira Morales was finally fulfilled. She was a 20-year-old woman who became quadriplegic after being attacked with a bottle in a bar when she was 17.

The young woman, originally from Los Andes, Sotomayo (Nariño),  had requested euthanasia through assisted communications with her family, emphasizing the physical and emotional pain she suffered daily . However, according to Morales’ family, her health insurance provider, Emssanar, had denied her access to the procedure.
