WASHINGTON — A new health update involving President Donald Trump has sparked widespread discussion after the White House confirmed that he was recently diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency following concerns about visible swelling in his lower legs.

The announcement came after growing public speculation surrounding the president’s appearance during several recent public events, where observers noted what appeared to be swelling near his ankles and slower, more deliberate movement while walking.

Addressing the issue directly, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president underwent a full medical evaluation “out of an abundance of caution” after noticing mild swelling in recent weeks.

According to an official memorandum released by White House physician Capt. Sean Barbabella, the examination included bilateral lower-extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds along with additional vascular diagnostic testing.

The results identified chronic venous insufficiency, commonly known as CVI.
